Project Overview:
The video, part of CNET's tech explainer series, focused on the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in Samsung's Galaxy S10. I was responsible to creating motion graphics to clearly illustrate how fingerprint recognition works.
My Role:
Science Facts Research, Visual Story Ideas, Storyboard, Graphic Design Asset Creation, Animation
Software:
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
Process:
Working from a script provided by the host, I began by reseraching the technology behind fingerprint sensors, including the differences between optical and ultrasonic systems. I then developed a storyboard and designed custom graphic assets. To enhance realism, I incorporated green screen footage of real hands interacting with devices. Finally, I animated and edited the visuals to align seamlessly with the narration.
I created from the scratch to the final product: Research -> Ideation -> Storyboard -> Graphic Design -> Animation
Result:
The final animation clearly explained the fingerprint technology, significantly improving viewers engagement and comprehension. The video helped audiences better understand the innovative feature and its underlying science.
