Project Overview:
This project was part of Hacking the Apocalypse, a documentary series produced by CNET. I contributed as a motion graphic designer, creating scientific and medical animations to support and enhance the storytelling.
My Role:
Science Facts Research, Visual Story Ideas, Storyboard, Graphic Design Asset Creation, Animation
Software:
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere
Process:
Our design team developed the visual branding for the series, reflecting its serious and thought-provoking tone in line with the title Hacking the Apocalypse. Once I was assigned specific scenes to animate, I began with script-based ideation. I conducted in-depth research to ensure the scientific accuracy of the animations. From there, I designed visual elements and brought them to life through motion. I regularly collaborated with the team sharing progress, gathering feedback, and aligning with the creative direction throughout the project.
I created from the scratch to the final product: Research -> Ideation -> Storyboard -> Graphic Design -> Animation
Result:
Our collaborative efforts - across producers, editors, and designers - were recognized when the documentary received a Telly Award. It was a proud moment for all of us, and a testament to the power of teamwork.
